A Hidden Gem in Plain Sight: Why Biggs Cafe is Newcastle’s Best Morning Stop ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you are looking for the perfect start to your day in Newcastle, look no further than **Biggs Cafe**. ### Genius Location & Convenience First off, the location is absolutely genius. It is situated right on the corner, offering incredibly easy access, but the real winner is its proximity to the transport links. It is **right next to the tram stop**, making it the ultimate convenience for commuters or anyone exploring the city. You can literally hop off the tram and be ordering your coffee within seconds. ### The Warmest Welcome in Town While the location draws you in, it’s the people that make you stay. The staff here are extremely friendly and bring such a positive energy to the place. From the moment you walk through the door, you are made to feel **absolutely welcomed**. It’s rare to find service that feels this genuine and personal—they truly go the extra mile to make sure you’re looked after. ### Coffee & Fresh Juice For the drink enthusiasts, Biggs hits the mark on all fronts: * **The Coffee:** The coffee here is great—consistently smooth, well-made, and exactly what you need to wake up. * **The Juice:** If you aren't in the mood for caffeine, I highly recommend checking out their juice selection. It isn't just bottled stuff; they serve **fresh, handmade juice** that tastes amazing and healthy. ### The Must-Try Breakfast Now, for the most important part: the food. Their breakfast menu is solid, but there is one item that stands head and shoulders above the rest. **You have to order the Lamb Toastie.** It is hands-down a "must" when you visit. Perfectly toasted, flavorful, and comforting, it’s easily one of the best breakfast items I’ve had in Newcastle. **The Verdict:** Whether you are rushing to catch a tram or have time to sit and enjoy the corner views, Biggs Cafe delivers on every level. Great vibes, convenient spot, and that lamb toastie is unforgettable.

Essentially the food here is reliably good, the prices fair, and a great asset to the Interchange. However… I’m not sure when rock salt became a ‘topping’, but sometime between my last visit and this one the owners must have come into some very economically priced rock salt or some bright spark there came up with a new upsell idea. I love salt at least as much as the next person, but that decoration isn’t going to entice me to add a cold drink to my order. I’m giving this idea a two finger salute. Aside from that keep up the good work you’re doing.

I was waiting for the bus to go to Anna Bay when I come across a little coffee shop. I went in and the lady was so nice to me. They got me a pie and some orange juice and some tomato sauce. They looked after me really well, I had a talk to them and they said it was a little bit quiet today but it is a Sunday. If you’re coming to the Newcastle interchange where the train is they’re just straight ahead in about 50 mt from the station. they have cold drinks, coffee and other sorts of food. I’ve taken a few photos so I have a look. I’d recommend just calling in and grabbing a drink and something to eat. It’s so close and handy before you get on the train to go to Sydney or getting on the tram to go up to Newcastle from michael

I ventured in to Biggs on my way to the train station. Very nice place. A bit pricey. Two bottles of water and a crossing ran me $20. That is Sydney CBD prices in Newcastle. But that said, the food was nice, the service was great. The two ladies behind the counter were very polite. Has a great atmosphere, real little boutique style coffee shop. A great place to kill those minutes before the train departs for Sydney.

Friendly, efficient staff and lovely iced almond latte. I was in Newcastle for The People’s Blockade of the World’s Largest Coal Port and Biggs Coffee is great fuel for the train journey.

This morning at Biggs Wickham was nothing short of a spiritual awakening. The toastie of the month—massaman beef—wasn’t just food, it was a transcendent event. Me and three family members experienced what can only be described as a combined culinary enlightenment, the kind of mystical flavour explosion that makes you question if you’ve been living in grayscale your whole life. To top it off, I doubled down with an everything bagel loaded with chive cream cheese and tomato relish. Honestly, it set me up for my Sunday surf to be all-time, no matter if it’s glassy perfection or ankle-slappers. Big shoutout to Brayds and Sarah for not only serving food but guiding me on this wild flavour pilgrimage. Legends. Biggs isn’t just a café—it’s a portal. Step through.

Been here a couple times and honestly the food and coffees are so good! They never disappoint, my last visit they had a special which was a massaman beef toastie and it was so delicious, I should’ve bought an extra for the long trip back to syd. Anyway highly recommend even with if you’re just wanting a regular h&c toastie.
